2023 Sailing Classes Are Now Scheduled

2023 sailing class have been scheduled.  You will be able to access the registration starting April 6, 2023  at  South Whidbey Parks and Recreation.    These popular classes fill quickly.


Youth Program – 2023

Beginner Sailing:

July 10-14 (ages 10-15) 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
July 17-21 (ages 10-15) 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
July 24-28 (ages 10-15) 9:00 am to 2:30 pm

Intermediate Sailing:

July 10-14 (ages 12-16) 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
July 17-21 (ages 12-16) 9:00 am to 2:30 pm


An awards ceremony is held on Fridays at 2:00 pm for each session. Parents are encouraged to attend! Parents are also encouraged to attend the first-day Orientation Session.

The first Monday session is at the County Park at Deer Lake at 9 AM. Our class policy is to ensure that each student can swim and is comfortable around the water before getting on the boats. Students should come to this orientation prepared to jump into the lake and swim for 2 minutes. Any returning student that has completed this assessment from a prior SWYC Sailing Class is excused from this swim assessment.

An email will be sent 7 to 10 days prior to the first class with last-minute changes and first-day information.


Adult Program 

2023 Adult Classes Are Now Scheduled. 

Registration will be available starting April 6, 2023.  

All sessions will be able to accommodate both Beginning and Intermediate Sailing.

2023 : Session1: June 3 & 4,  Session II: June 5-8  and Session III June: 10-11 on Lone Lake.   Weekend classes are 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM with a lunch break.  The weekday session is 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
