The 2023 Season Is Now Completed
There are avid small boat sailors and racers in the SWYC. Come out and see what all the fun is on the water. Whether flying across the water in a Laser, or enjoying the challenges of the 2-person team approach in a Pelican, SWYC has the experiences for you. Lasers
LASER CLINIC – NEW in 2023: The Laser Fleet got set for the 2023 season by first offering a Laser Clinic that was held two Sundays in April. We are hoping to repeat the clinic in April 2024. Whether you’re a sailor interested in trying out sailing a laser, or an experienced laser racer just wanting to get warmed up for the season, consider attending these clinics being taught by our own talented Zak Malbin. Zak has raced lasers since he was 13 years old, and was for many years a US Sailing Certified Sailing Instructor and Level 2 Racing Coach.

LASER RACING: The 2023 Series is now completed. Races began May 16. Series I ran through July 11. Series II started July 18 and ran through September 5. Races were held every Tuesday with a 4:30 start time. All are held on Holmes Harbor, launching from the Freeland Park launch. Reach out to Zak Malbin or Carol Dean for more information and to be included in laser sailing roster. 2024 schedules will be posted in Spring 2024.

Pelicans
The 2023 Pelican Racing Series started on May 31 and continued through the summer with a break in July while youth sailing classes were being held. Come out and join the Pelicaneers on Lone Lake earlier in the summer and on Penn Cove from Monroe Landing later in the summer. Or just spend a pleasant evening coming out to watch the activities.
